La Junta City Council is scheduled to consider two supplemental appropriations totaling $4.525 million on Nov. 2. The larger proposal would add $4 million in grant-related spending to the Water Fund; the other would add $525,000 for General Fund capital expenditures. The council agenda lists both ordinances for first reading and action.

The $4 million Water Fund proposal equals about 86% of the fund’s $4.629 million budgeted total revenue for 2026. The city’s September Water Fund financial report budgeted no grant revenue for the year.

Ordinance 1709 lists $4 million in Water Fund grant expense, matched by an equal amount in anticipated grant revenue. Ordinance 1708 lists $525,000 for General Fund capital expenditures, also matched by grant revenue. Neither ordinance names the grants or the projects the money would support.
