Elizabeth trustees direct staff to negotiate proposed $49,000 facilities plan
The proposed Wold Architects contract would assess town facilities and sites through about 2045; a draft could inform November budget discussions.
Elizabeth trustees directed staff Aug. 11 to negotiate a proposed $49,000 contract with Wold Architects and Engineers for a long-range review of the town’s public facilities and capital needs.
The assessment would cover Town Hall, the Police Department, the Public Works Facility, Bandt Park, Running Creek Park and two vacant town-owned parcels. Staff had not yet contacted Wold. Trustees directed staff to begin negotiations and return with an agreement for review at the Aug. 25 meeting. The available record shows no formal motion, roll-call vote or executed contract, so the agreement remains prospective.
Staff said a preliminary draft could be ready by November to inform budget discussions, if needed. A completed plan was anticipated around February, though staff described that as a realistic timeline rather than a firm deadline, according to the Aug. 11 meeting recording.
Wold’s proposed fee was lower than the other two proposals identified in the selection memo: $50,000 from Davis Partnership Architects, with IMEG and Cumming Group, and $51,500 from Gensler, with Bureau Veritas. Staff cited Wold’s experience with comparable Colorado communities and its multidisciplinary team.
The selection memo does not identify the fund, appropriation or budget account that would pay the proposed fee. It also does not specify detailed work products, itemized capital needs or a final contract term. Those details could be addressed if an agreement returns to trustees.
