Elizabeth trustees unanimously approved $332,404.42 in Hillside project change orders for water-main and valve work and additional paving on Sprouse Court. They separately approved $65,168 from the Water Fund for curb-stop work.

The board approved change orders 1 through 4 for $211,598.98, then approved change order 5 for $120,805.44. The amounts and unanimous votes are recorded in the Oct. 27 meeting. The $332,404.42 total covers the change orders and does not include the separate curb-stop authorization.

Change order 4, priced at $156,917.73, covers realigning a water main, removing a pressure-reducing valve and replacing two Zane Court valves with larger ones. The town’s change-order staff report describes that work as completed. Change order 5 adds paving, curb and gutter, and a concrete valley pan on Sprouse Court. The report says that work depends on obtaining the necessary easements.

The curb-stop authorization covers work on residential valves that staff said was needed to locate, relocate or install stops and maintain reliable water service during construction.

The staff report lists a $4,063,200 project budget and says capital outlay for the items is within budget. The resolutions say the change orders exceed amounts approved in the 2026 budget.

The work is part of an ongoing project. A town staff update said subsurface water and sewer work was complete, while staff was checking Phase 1 for remaining concrete or manhole and valve issues before the final asphalt lift. The update identifies Dec. 15 as the contract date for substantial completion, subject to any extension.
