Burlington council to discuss Outback Territory Park tower safety
The city's insurance group says the park's towers have a decaying foundation and wobble, and asked the city to block them off or remove them from service.
Burlington City Council is scheduled Monday to discuss safety concerns at Outback Territory Park after the city’s insurance group reported a decaying foundation and wobbling towers and asked the city to block them off or remove them from service.
The park is at 15th Street and Martin Avenue, according to the council agenda packet. The concern was raised at the council’s Aug. 31 meeting, when City Administrator Jim Keehne said the foundation was decaying after 32 years and that the towers wobble.
The agenda does not specify a vote or other action on the towers. Monday’s meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Burlington Community and Education Center.
