Elizabeth staff report 1,500-plus visits tied to August events
A staff memo says four events brought visitors to Main Street and Running Creek Park, with attendance and visitor-origin data scheduled for discussion by the Main Street board.
Elizabeth staff reported 986 Main Street visits and 576 Running Creek Park visitors during four events held Aug. 21-31, for a combined total of more than 1,500 visits and visitors.
The events were the Main Street Car Show, the 5K and Family Color Run, Brewfest and BBQ in the Park. In a memo prepared for the Elizabeth Main Street Board of Directors’ Sept. 14 meeting, [the Community Development Department reported](https://elizabethco.api.civicclerk.com/v1/Meetings/GetAttachmentFile(fileId=8754) using Placer.ai foot-traffic data) that 917 visitors made 986 Main Street visits during the period.
Staff reported that Main Street traffic was up 29.7% from the same period in 2025 and 46.3% from 2024. About 40% of visitors were from Elizabeth, while the rest came from elsewhere, including Parker, Black Forest, Franktown, Kiowa and the Denver metro area. Visitors stayed an average of 51 minutes.
At Running Creek Park, staff counted 576 visitors who stayed at least 10 minutes. The memo estimated that about 205 attended Brewfest and 345 attended BBQ in the Park. Staff reported an average park stay of 129 minutes.
Staff also reported apparent foot-traffic spillover at Gold Creek Retail Center, Wild Pointe Ranch Marketplace, Safeway and downtown Main Street. The data does not establish purchases, sales, revenue or business-specific economic impact.

The packet does not identify changes already adopted. A separate staff report says 265 people participated in the 2026 5K and Color Run, up 15% from the prior year, and that feedback on the event would be discussed at a future meeting.
